Choosing the right tube and valve is vital for optimal performance and ease of maintenance on your cycling journeys. Your current tubes and tyres will usually let you know the size and width required.

The valve type plays a crucial role too. The two most common valve types are Presta and Schrader.

Presta valves, are slimmer and have a locking nut to secure them in place.

Schrader valves, on the other hand, are wider, resembling car tyre valves, and are commonly found on a variety of bikes.

To check your current tyre and tube;

1. The “700” is the wheel size (can be 650b, 700, 12-29 inch)

2. Next you are checking for the volume/width of the tube required (can be inches or mm)

3. Ensure you have the correct valve.
